A Non Pundits View

Politicians & some media outlets know how to spin issues, they twist situation or stories to represent what they want to show & the news they want to sell. Every news outlet claims to be the best, this suggests that the sells pitch is right & more people are watching that outlet more than any other competing outlet.

I am no Pundit; I am just one who seeks the truth & one who wants news media, politicians & all players in the game to be forthright. There is nothing wrong with tell people that “this is our perspective & this is how we see this issue” but it is out of order to sell a lie or half truth to people. How I wish ratings did not influence the news we get and how we get it, how I wish.

Senator Obama & Senator McCain are locked in a fierce fight for the Whitehouse; they both seem to be working harder than ever. Mud is being thrown left right & center, half truths now rule the air waves & the race has just become an issue of who throws the most mud. I must give credit to Senator Obama & his team for not blasting Sarah Palin to the degree she is blasting Senator Obama.

Is this election about Character, ones past jobs, emotional issues or is it about the issues that the American people are going through? Everyday I watch the news Medias & I am shocked at what is being talked about, should people be told what to vote on, should there be a question of who to vote for? I submit that the issues do not sell so why should media outlets talk about them.

If someone was to make the mistake to ask me what I think the questions this election cycle should ask, my answer would be;

  1. Iraq – Why did America go into Iraq & is the war benefiting the American Public?
  2. Iraq – Why has it taken this long for Iraq to assume responsibility?
  3. Iraq – With its rich oil, does Iraq have a trade deal with the country it “freed”?
  4. The Economy - Why is the biggest economy in such a mess?
  5. The Economy - Should people trust Republicans after hat they have done?
  6. The Economy – How many more banks will fail this year alone?

While Senator McCain boosts of the Surge, he should first answer why the war was waged.

While Sarah Palin speaks of being a different candidate, her attacks on Obama are from the Washington Rove Playbook.

Politics should not be about who is right or who is wrong but it should be about how best to serve the people. Partisan politics cripples a system; it neglects the core issue, the people.
